A New Kind Of Dating

This weekend I had my first date with Mr. Long Distance and it was convenient, comfortable and surprisingly entertaining. We talked, laughed and exchange stories more like old friends than complete strangers. It was among one of the best dates in my recent history but I wonder if our preplanned phone date entirely counts as a date at all. He technically did inquire upon my availability, followed through and asked genuine questions. I learned about Mr. Long Distance's likes, dislikes and past romantic mishaps all while reclining casually in my sweatpants without a stitch of make up on. Our date lasted over an hour (longer than my most lack luster person to person dates) and I received the follow up “I had a good time" text. As I smugly recounted the date's details to my friends, I wondered - is this the new way of dating or am I just getting lazy? Either way, I do look forward to meeting Mr. Long Distance face to face and can only hope his excellent phone etiquette is only surpassed by his in person charm.

  1. Sounds like a good sign to me. Maybe he's just making sure you two have spark before venturing the distance to meet you. It might make the person to person date more like a date and less like an interview. Keep us posted!!!
